Certain situations call the need to admit defeat.
First up, I want to apologize profusely for not reading any FYBF posts from last week.
But even from a galaxy far, far away, life has gotten the better of me.
In my closet state of wannabe craft mummy, I promised the boys a Star Wars theme birthday party.
Those who have been following this blog from prehistoric internet years will know that I have only held two birthday parties for the boys – for their first and their fourth. Both times it took several years to recover.
Alas, I never learn my lesson. Perhaps I just desperately want to be that superhero mum.
So the nights when I usually catch up on FYBF reading, I’ve stayed up till midnight making these babies…
And because that didn’t satisfy my OCD tendencies, the following evening, I found the inspiration to make Stormtrooper party bags.
Thank you, Pinterest.
Thank you to all you insatiably talented, crafty bloggers who successfully led me to believe I could possibly be even a smidgeon as cool as you.
There’s a few extra party craft projects that I’m working on but I don’t want to give too much more away.
Except to say, that maybe Mama Gr-REY-ce will be making a special character appearance.
There may – or may not – be a Death Star Piñata. And I will ensure to put some lollies in this time. Rookie parenting mistake. Ahems.
Once the crazy party shenanigans is over, I promise that I will return from the Dark Side and catch up on all your lives and blogs.
May the FYBF Force Be With You.
Are you or your kids into Star Wars? Have you seen The Force Awakens? Who else wants to be Rey???

4. Grab the funky FYBF button and post it on your sidebar. Help spread the blogfloggin love.

I would love to have been Princess Leia just so I could have those funky braids! Pinterest has nothing on you, at this rate, With Some Grace will be turned into a craft blog. Husband is a bit of a Star Wars nerd, I’ll be sure to keep your party plans a secret in case he wants to gatecrash! Hope the party is out of this world and that the force is with the birthday boys on their special day! x

I love organising kids birthday parties but I never hosted a Star Wars party. It sounds great! If only my kids were a bit younger again so I could do the whole themed party thing again – lol!

I hate organising kids parties, always have and always will. I much prefer to simply go to them already done.

I am SO going to make those noodle light sabers! They’re great! My boys have the toy version but they’re not very house-friendly. (As in, I am waiting for the day when one of them does some serious damage.)
Good luck with the party and may the Force be with you! X

I completely get the ‘behind in everything’ concept as I am just that. I recently started a new part time job and then went away for 5 days in the midst of that, so am seriously behind.
But… I love these great party ideas. Gotta love Pinterest for inspiration!

My husband took our son to see it (I’m more of a Star Trek nerd than a Star Wars one). Hope the Pinata goes well!

Go you! It looks like you may need another few years to recover though! I think I’ve officially given up on birthday parties. The older two are more into sleepovers now and my youngest who’ll also be 6 in April is usually pretty easy to please – thank goodness. Enjoy the party – happy birthday to the twinions!

All the best with the party preparations Grace, it can be a little daunting when you are organising parties for school aged kids….Popette’s last party had 25 kids…never again!! 🙂

Seriously cool party props! I don’t like putting kids’ parties together, but always have fun at them and am always glad I’ve done it. And totally forgiven for last week! I can’t believe you usually hit every single link. x

Those light sabers are awesome Grace! I’m sure the kids will love it. I’m currently jumping down the rabbit hole that is pinterest trying to come up with ideas for my daughters party and her birthday isn’t until July haha. After this one i don’t think I’ll do one til she’s in school either.

Super impressed with the light sabres! I’m definitely using that idea for our eldest’s birthday later in the year!

So clever of you! Well done.
Yes, my kids LOVE Star Wars – just like their Daddy. I don’t know much about Rey but she seems pretty badass.
