If you were hoping that talk of birthdays and cake fails were over, I’m sorry to disappoint.
Today is the big par-tay for the twinions.
As I started planning, shopping, committing to two dinosaur cakes, my anxiety levels rocket through the roof, I consciously stopped myself.
Life’s stressful enough as it is, right?
For the twin ion’s birthday afternoon last week, we decided to go for celebratory fish n chips down the bay. It was a perfect summer’s afternoon. As Mr Surfer and I watched our munchkins squeal with delight as they plunged into the cool ocean water, we reminded ourselves of what was really important about turning four.
It wasn’t the extravagant presents or fretting over what theme the party should be.
Squishing toes through the warm sand, watching in awe as your feet sink and disappear as the gentle waves wash over them.
It’s the simple joys of being a kid; the exhilaration of discovering anything, everything and everywhere.
Chasing pesky seagulls, giggling helplessly as you pretend to also soar through the clear, blue sky with them.
Letting your untapped imagination and innocence collide, swerve through the esplanade, joining the gentle ocean breeze.
Here’s to a relaxing, fun-filled party. Here’s to celebrating with family and friends, sharing some laughs along the way.
Remembering that it’s just about the seagulls. Those crazy gulls.
What’re you up to this Sunday?
Happy Birthday Twinions! How blessed you are to have scored doubles!
Good luck with the birthday. I remember my 4th birthday really well – I got a big baby dolly! Hopefully today’s efforts will be remembered by your little boys too! 😀

Hope the party goes well! Not sure how you manage hosting and baking and all of that…I’m stressing about a BBQ I’m hosting today! It’s not even at my place and in the park…but I think it’s the first time I’m hosting something for more than 5 people and it’s stressful…didn’t get much sleep because of nightmares of all that could go wrong! 😛
Looking forward to hearing how the party goes! Enjoy your Sunday!

Squishing toes into the sand is much more important than stressing over cake! How awesome it must be to be a twin and have your own best buddy to share everything with (although I can imagine how stressful it must be for a twin mummy at times).
