Yo, Santa!
That crazy, authentic and hopeful gal over at Essentially Jess started this Christmas List tagging thang and it’s taken over the blogosphere!
She tagged me last week and as usual, it’s taken me this long to step up to the mark but I’m finally here and here’s what I want (pretty please).
A home and a family for every orphan in the world…
Visiting a Balinese orphanage last month opened my eyes to the cold reality of countless parentless, poor and under-privileged children. I can’t fix the situation on my own but after our visit, I’m confident that if we all do our own small part, significant positive changes can happen.
Can you also please see what Christmas miracles you can do ?
Sleep. I need sleeeeeep…
I want deep, uninterrupted slumber (pretty please).
I love to hate this photo. I fondly remember my lazy koala bear days but then quickly snap into realizing that they’re long gone. I doubt that I’ll get back to that peaceful rhythm of REM. Ever.
Please tell me I’m wrong.
A small, modest, cosy villa in Bali
You know how much I love Indonesia. So, too have a little space of our own over there, to visit whenever we wanted and for however long, would just about complete my connection with my birth country.
Wake up at the crack of dawn to the sounds of roosters crowing. Then wander to the markets, grab some fresh fruit for breakfast. The twinlets and I would spend the day hanging with the neighbours and locals, immersed in culture and language. Mr Surfer would have his idyllic life, catching waves and hanging ten every day.
A simple laid back life on the Island of Gods. That’s not asking for much, is it?
A ticket to the World Domination Summit (#WDS)
Chris Guillebeau is an American entrepreneur who spoke at Problogger earlier this year. His insights on blogging, community and how to make a living doing what you love just blew my mind away.
Dubbed as “The Woodstock for World Changers”, #WDS is held in Portland, Oregon. There’s only room for 1,000 attendees. Tickets for WDS 2013 sold out the day after last year’s conference. There’s an astounding 8,000 others on the waiting list. What’re my chances?
It doesn’t matter if it doesn’t happen next year. I know your little reindeers will get me there eventually.
Grace With Film …
The creative juices from this Instagram addict has started to dry up lately.
Even I’m starting to get bored of all the twinlets photos I take.
I need to find a new fountain of inspiration.
There’s a couple of interesting one day photography courses out there that have caught my eager eye.
An entire 8 hours to play around with my beloved Olympus while wandering around iconic sites and off beaten tracks around Sydney would be a giant slice of heaven.
You can see I’m not asking much (ahems). Have your people talk to my people and let me know what you can do. I’m sure we can work something out. Kthanksbai.
Now to tag some lovely ladies and find out what’s on their wish list from the Man in Raunchy Red…
Joining Essentially Jess, the lovely lady who started all this Christmas craziness for IBOT.
Love the photo. And interesting on the World Domination Summit. Never heard of it!

Love that pic!

A world that works for everybody with no one left out. That would be nice. It’s heartbreaking to think of all the children that will be spending Christmas without their families. It certainly puts my homesickness into perspective.
I’m hoping to do a photography course next year too, I love my Nikon but have no idea what half the settings do and most of my good pictures have just been lucky shots!

I love your list. LOVE it. It’s so YOU – which is a beautiful thing. I’ve never heard of the WDS – fascinating!

I’ve been tagged in 2 of these posts and have no Internet yet to do my own!
I’m with you on the photography inspiration. I’ve been taking terrible photos lately. Just leave this post open for hubby to see so maybe he’ll send you for one of those courses!

I’m looking into photography courses as we speak! It would be nice to know what I’m doing instead of just fluking it most of the time.
That summit sounds awesome, or should I say awe inspiring. I could do with a bit of a kick up the butt like that!
Great wishes Grace. I hope they come true for you, love 🙂

When your wishes are fulfilled, can I tag along on most of them?
Sudden thought, maybe we could organise a bloggers photography day-long course in 2013 ????!!
By the way, you WILL get more sleep… my twins are amazing me by sleeping until 7am some mornings… and last night I was asleep at 8pm, don’t think I am 100% well. But those long lazy mornings reading the papers…gone!

I don’t think any of them are too much to ask for, and wish they would all be fulfilled for you for Christmas.

From this I gather that your perfect day would be a lovely afternoon nap in a mosquito netted bed in your stylishly cosy Indonesian villa. Post nap cocktails to be served by Colin Firth in a white linen shirt whilst Surfer Dude is out catching waves.

That’s a great well rounded list.
Those conferences are great … I have not been to that exact one but I go to many success type summits and they are very empowering, inspiring and energising. Richard Branson often attends a couple in Australia, as does Tony Robbins. These are not blog specific though … but often centre on on-line profits.
Merry Christmas Grace!
See you again on Friday when I do some flogging …
Leanne @ Deep Fried Fruit
Great list and I can se some of your goals for 2013 here! I’m thinking of a short photography course too. I was taking some shots of Lil Pumpkin for (hopefully) this Fri’s post and she’s a gorgeous model to work with. I might b biased :p
But unfortunately, I think her mama’s photography skills don’t do her justice!

Love the sleepy photo, Grace … I especially like how you take up the whole bed, what luxury!
Ohhh to wander around the bush with a camera, or through the old castles in France! That would be my wish. I doubt I would ever get sick of it!
Sleep… is overrated….

That is a beautiful Christmas Wish List Grace and boy can I relate to the sleep thing. I’m finally onto a good thing at the moment in that department! I recently did a 4hr SLR photography course and wow it was fantastic! I can now use my fancy pants Nikon camera on MANUAL. No more automatic for me .. nah uh …!! I plan to follow up with a practical course…where we prance around Southbank snapping away with professional advice and guidance right there with us (when I can fit it in). Hope all your Christmas wishes come true Grace! Merry Christmas from Min…via #teamIBOT xoxo

Oh Bali, sounds wonderful and the non selfish person inside of me would love to have all orphans housed. Actually with so many people I know desperate to have children, you would think it would be a little easier to have these children housed. They want them, legal requirements and laws are massive road blocks!
Mel recently posted..Not A Creature Was Stirring, Not Even A….
I’ve recently gotten on board with a charity who are trying to build orphanges in Cambodia and, even though I’ve always known the numbers, the sheer weight of all those orphans still makes me shake my head at the way the Australian Government roadblocks couples who want to adopt.
There are half a million orphans in Cambodia alone, and millions more throughout Asia and Africa, and yet adoption in Australia is such a legal minefield of red tape that it’s deemed as ‘too hard’.
Lucky and I looked into it when it became obvious that I wouldn’t be able to have a second child, but the hoops we’d have to jump through is such an enormeity that it’s almost offputting… ALMOST. We’re still talking about it – but it will take years to go through the process.
