It’s my 4th year joining in Sydney’s biggest running event of the year.
This year though, there was no running (damn you, patella tendonitis) but instead, lots of walking.
Throughout the entire 14 kilometres and among the 85,000 participants, there was a LOT of entertainment and community spirit to keep me occupied.
A bit of monkey mayhem…
The mandatory Smurfs (Now I know where these blue creatures keep their mobiles handy…)
And even a smiley in the sky.
Linking up for Wordless Wednesday with the awesome Trish of My Little Drummer Boys who RAN the entire race…Go, girlfriend!
You did it too Grace – well done. Haha I stayed away from the Smurfs this year. It was a lot of fun , running meant I didn’t take photos – I never saw the apes but did see Iron Man.

My brother and my older son run in that very race!! My older son is still very sore, and hardly moving!!
I never realised that one could walk in the City To Surf – so going to look at joining next year if we are nearby.
Sure looks like a great day out, love those blue smurfs!

How great is that smiley face. Well done, Grace. What a great effort even if you did have to walk. Looks like lots of fun, too – great role modelling fitness for the twinlets, too. x

Great to see your pictures. I did it as a walk and talk and it’s a great way to spend a Sunday morning with a pal. I must read your post on the patella problem, will do to get up to speed. Makes me happy to be a slow jogger/fast walker!!
