Wordless Wednesday – Introducing Henry and Rex

March 18, 2015 By: mamagrace719 Comments

Since starting part-time work that takes me out on the road to all corners of Sydney, making sure I beat the school zones and traffic to make it in time for daycare pick up has been tricky.

Carefully calculating where my last appointment is and leaving in ample time has – at times – proven to be futile.

I’ve been caught in the car park that be Gore Hill Free way or squashed in a game of sardine traffic jams on Pacific Highway.

Sydney, I love you but damn your terrible, head beating dashboard traffic.

Luckily, I can count on Mr Surfer to swoop in and walk down to pick the boys up.

For the most part, I’m there. On time.

Walking into the hall and there always seems to be a special moment waiting for me to cherish.

The stress of the road suddenly vanishes.

Introducing my Henry the Octopus and Rex the Dino…

Rex: Check out my tail, Mama!

Henry: Check out mine! Oh, I don’t have one…

Have you ever been late for daycare pick up? What’s your Plan B? How’s the traffic in your city?

It’s been forever but finally getting the chance to join Trish at My Little Drummer Boys for

Wordless Wednesday!

Urgh I feel your traffic pain… Melbourne is so bad! I’ve given up and have been catching public transport lately!

I don’t have to do daycare pick up thankgod because if I went back to my job I’d have to send them to one really close to work because I’d never get to the one at the end of the street in time for pick-up.

Lovely pics of your cuties. I have to admit I don’t miss much about Brisbane, particularly the traffic and the daily commute. A 9hr day became an 11hr day and I lived near the inner city! It drove me bonkers!

How adorable. I was late once, well I ended up in hospital at short notice and couldn’t contact hubby. A quick phone call to the preschool at the time sorted out and they were wonderful. Of course the overtime bill we received the following week, not so wonderful.

Believe it or not, our childcare centre is just over the road from us. So by the time I got there(if I had to) I’d already be at home practically.
Must be so great to pick them up looking like this. They look like they take it all in their stride x

Ugh…Sydney traffic is atrocious!!! It’s driving me crazy every day. unfortunately for me, public transport is not an option as it would take me two hours each way from the Shire to South west Sydney as against the hour it does now.
