Finally ! Half an hour after I’ve tucked the twinlets in for their nap, the giggling and laughter has ceased !
I have a few spare moments to let my creative blogging juices flow and join the lovely Lulu at Cherry Blossom Adventures for the “Some Days (Are Tuesdays)…” link-up.
This is my first attempt …so here it goes !
- Some days the constant rain inspires me to write and get wrapped up in cosy feelings of nostalgia. Some days, indoors confinement with two very active yet agitated toddlers does my head in.
- Some days in the midst of all the piles of laundry and dirty dishes, I wonder where the romance goes in a marriage. Then, I realise that raising twins is all about tag-teaming with Hubby and it takes two to keep the household afloat. That feelings of love and passion haven’t gone away. They just get temporarily put aside in priority.
- Some days, after several nights straight of four hours sleep, I wonder how I still find the energy to strap two wriggly and grumpy boys into their car seat and take them to playgroup. Then, go through the whole ordeal again when it’s home time. I am definitely running on fumes today.
- Some days I am so sleep deprived and exhausted that I will mistake one twin for the other. It’s rare but as they’re getting bigger, it’s happening more often…
- Some days I need to remember that motherhood isn’t a sprint. Instead, it’s a marathon. Where endurance is key and keeping things at a slow and steady pace will help me get by.
Make sure you head over to Cherry Blossom Adventures to link up and check out what others are thinking about this Tuesday.
haha, I only have one 14 month old child but the constant rain drives me insane. We definitely need to get out of house at least once a day!
4 hours a sleep a night…. yikes! I feel for you I really do.
Hope you get some rest soon. Mummy exhaustion is relentless.
How do you tell your boys apart? (I know, silly question, but I’m interested in how mums of twins do it).
Before the boys were born I would worry myself sick about how I was going to be able to tell them apart.
But, as it works out – Little N is much lighter than Little K (by a kilo). Also, he has a slightly droopy left eyelid and in general, his eyes are of smaller size than Little K’s.
Other than that…we’re going to be finding ourselves in a muddle before long. I can just see it ! 🙂
That’s a relief to know that even a mother *may* struggle to identify her twins. I’m sure you never will though. I bet as babies it may have been harder (less features?). If I gave birth to identical twins I think I would insist they were identity bracelets for the first month! lol
Oh yes, how do you tell those two cuties apart? It always ceases to amaze me that mum`s don`t get their twins mixed up because I am constantly calling Noah Shion and Shion Noah and my husband one or the other- and none of them are the same looking or size at all.
4 hours a night would be hard for me too- if I get 6 I do okay. Anything less and I spend the whole day in a fog and am likley to conk out when the boys nap.
Thanks for joining in!
I remember being 8 months pregnant and waking up in the middle of the night, worrying about how I was going to tell my boys apart 🙂
So far, it’s been easy – Little N has always been a kilo lighter than Little K.
Also, it’s a subtle difference – but Little N has a slightly droopy left eyelid. And in general, the size of his eyes aren’t as large as Little K.
But now Little N is pretty much catching up in weight and height. So, if I’m coming from behind to pick one of them up, I can easily mistake one for the other…
It won’t be long until the munchkins are going to start playing tricks on us 🙂
Indoors confinement does my head in every time. We’ve been playing outside every day (and getting back home wet everyday). Why is it that even when it looks dry, it starts raining as soon as we are out of the house and within considerable distance from any shelter? You are going to Melbourne for the Blogopolis? Lucky you!
I know !!! It’s so Murphy’s Law ! Mummy-style 🙂
Yes, off to Blogopolis ! Excited and nervous.
Wish you were coming too x
