I don’t need to tell you how hard this past winter has been for my family. The constant colds, unrelenting sinus issues, stubborn, phlegmy coughs.
All topped by last week’s asthma flare up, resulting in an early morning visit to the Sydney Children’s Hospital Emergency unit.
And while I think the worse is over now that spring is here (fingers, toes, nose hairs crossed), there is the one issue of hay fever.
Did you know that 15% of Australians suffer from hay fever?? That’s a lot of itchy noses…and worse.
It was about 2 months ago when Nunu started a tireless habit of waking up in the middle of the night.
“My nose! My nose!!” he’d cry.
No matter how much that little boy sniffed to try and get rid of that itch, nothing helped. The only solution that seemed to work was for us to actually give his little button a couple of quick pinches. (Weird I know). But even that only gave him temporary relief.
Completely frustrated and sleep deprived, we went to our GP (I realize I’ve been talking about her a lot lately…”Hi, Annie!”). Sometimes, your family doc is that oracle you need – she always has the answers!
Suggesting that we try paw paw ointment, I remembered the Brauer’s Paw Paw tube I received at the Bloggers’ Brunch. Knowing that it had no petrochemicals and only using natural ingredients, I had a hunch it was going to be different from the other brands.
We rubbed a little under his nose and a smidgen inside his nostrils and voila!
We were so amazed with the results (and the uninterrupted sleep we were getting), Mr Surfer used it for his hay fever prone dry nose too.
So as spring has bestowed its glorious weather upon us, flowers in full bloom…and all that extra pollen set to trigger our hay fever, I have a great Brauer giveaway for you all!
In my awesome Brauer Giveaway, I’m offering 5 readers the Brauer Paw Paw 25 g tube as well as the French Rose Lip Shimmer.
Perfectly timed for spring!
I’m a HUGE fan of the Brauer Lip Shimmer as I like the fact I’m applying a pretty colour to my lips while moisturizing them with only good, natural stuff and not whale blubber or any other nasties.

I love that the weather gets warmer to wear a pretty dress and that flowers bloom everywhere. I have been just loving the weather lately in QLD too – clear blue skies make the best landscapes pretty.
Hope the twins won’t get affected by Hayfever too much this spring.

I love that the weather is warmer (although here it’s gotten way too warm way too quick) which means that we can spend more time at the beach. Mr 4 swims regardless of the temperature so at least in spring he’s not going to be freezing when he gets out!

We’re big hayfever sufferers here Grace, so I’m hoping your little guy doesn’t have to deal with it too much. Seriously, you don’t need anything else to worry about, after the Winter you’ve had!
I love Spring because you can feel the freshness in the air and the days are really starting to stretch out. Doing the school drop-off in the almost dark in the mornings is no fun.
I also love that we can put away all the layers of Winter clothes, yay!! xx

Oh you make spring sound so lovely. Here ‘spring’ is hot and sticky and humid and all you do is sit around waiting for the rain to come and bring some relief.

I love paw paw and didn’t even know Brauer had one out!
Spring – I love seeing buds on barren plants and bushes and in NZ I used to love spring lambs bouncing across the paddocks and daffodils! x

I am so glad to see spring, I hate the cold and hate the heat! Spring is best!!
I like you and get your emails too.
Spring is a fabulous excuse to by a new dress and head to the Spring racing carnival !
I love sunny days, getting out my summer clothes, sitting outside at the coffee shop and not having to worry about feeling cold.
That it will be my first time attending the spring racing carnival
Open-toed shoes! I have big feet and wearing close-toed shoed really hurt my feet but I have to wear them in winter because I don’t want to have frozen toes (argghhh imagine that!). As soon as Spring is in the air, I put all my close-toed shoes into storage and do a little happy dance in sandals. 🙂
music festival dates are being released, can pack away your slacky trackies beanies too,the air is so refreshing and everywhere flowers are in bloom:)

Being able to dress my daughter up in pretty dresses and wearing dresses myself.
I love the refreshing seasonal change, the vitality this gives to the world outside and inside my home! With renewed energy and the sun shining, I can tackle Spring cleaning with vigour and get the house spick and span for the warm weather!
I love all about spring, but my favourite part is the weather is warm enough that I don’t have to wear pantyhose to work anymore, gosh I can’t stand the ladders and the twists and getting them on and off.
