I received some really, really REALLY awesome news last Thursday. So delicious in fact that, after the meeting I was skipping down the footpath back to the car. There may have been a little squee or three.
I immediately called my best friend who incidentally, opened the opportunity for me. There is no other feeling than sharing a win with your bestie – no matter how big or small.
Even more so significant when on the other line you hear the words, “I’m so proud of you”
True friendship right there.
I did try to call my husband but his line was busy. I figured he could wait.
You snooze you lose, buddy.
Needless to say he was happy for me but also surprised how quickly it all came about.
I wanted to shout the news to the world, post it on Facebook. Do some more turbo tweeting.
Unfortunately, due to certain circumstances, I can’t. Not yet.
Do you know how hard it is to revert back to communicating news the old way? Er, actually telling people?
Mr (Anti Social Media) Surfer couldn’t emphasize with my frustration.
“Huh. Welcome back to the real world…”
So here I sit at the computer. Being all vague and annoying. And I’m sorry. Sorry because I am one of these people who truly believe if it’s not ready to go online, keep it off. Yet, I’m busting at the edge of my seat wishing I could scream it down my computer screen.
Sorry because I can’t make time go faster and finally tell you all. Yet, want to use this radio silence to sit and savour what will be the awesomeness ahead.
All in good time. Because more than ever, I truly believe that everything always happens in perfect timing.
Have you ever had news to tell but was “Unfacebookable”? What did you do?

I think social media has made us all suckers for some instant gratification. Can you imagine in the old days, before there were phones, when it might have taken days to send the news by letter! I can’t wait for the big reveal, whatever it is, I’m so happy that you’re so happy and of course, I’m proud of you too!

I really want to talk about something right now but I can’t until I pursue things through proper channels. It’s frustrating (and I ended up vaguely talking about it on the blog earlier this week) but I know it will be for the best. In the meantime I’m noting my feelings down so it’s going to be a killer post when I am finally allowed to write it! Waiting with bated breath for your big news now….

The suspense is killing me 🙂 Come on, give us a clue…
I can’t really think of anything that I haven’t been able to Facebook, except for the birth of my first child in the middle of the night, Al had had to go home at about 4AM and I couldn’t possibly go back to sleep, but he hadn’t had the chance to tell his family yet…

I don’t Facebook anything! I just tell people when I see them. I am old-fashioned like that. But I do love SMS.
You’re killing me with suspense Grace! Congratulations anyway!!

Sounds very exciting! I remember having to delay announcing my pregnancy on Facebook because of work . . . one of our team members was being made redundant so it didn’t seem right, then I found out a friend and fellow team member also had a pregnancy announcement to make so we decided to do it at our team meeting which was another few days later . . . and because we had all of our team on Facebook, we had to hold off. The AGONY! Also having to hold off on the birth announcement text until we had rung my parents and given the name over the phone because they didn’t want to find out by text and they were in a really noisy cafe and could hardly hear . . . but we got there in the end!

Congratulations on your news! It’s so hard not to share with everyone when you’re excited, isn’t it? Looking forward to hearing all about it when you are able to announce it.
Oooohh sounds like exciting news Grace, I can’t wait to hear what it is! I’m sure whatever it is, is much deserved! 🙂 I am proud of both my girls. Popette who is in Year 2, has been having issues with kids at school, but the other day her teachers told me how well she is doing with her reading and that she’s trying hard with her writing. 🙂 I’m also proud of Cherub who has come a long way with her speech (she’s been going to speech therapy for 1.5 yrs). xx

My son got selected to go to Singapore for a soccer tour. Not everyone got selected so I couldn’t go and shout about it because we didn’t want to make other people feel sad/bad who didn’t get in. So I haven’t shouted about it … but I am so proud of him I really want to!
Yay for you Grace. I can’t wait until you can talk about it!
