This week’s FYBF is coming live from my temporary home…
What started as last minute plans to attend the Kids Business Blogger’s Brunch in Melbourne has turned out to be an extended “stay-cation”* sans kids, husband and housework.
The beloved Mr Surfer thought it was high time that I took my stress leave. Hell, all other jobs in the work force offer it, why should it be any different for us mums?
So, he booked me in this swanky hotel suite where 2 wall mounted screens is overkill but the biggest (and most important) goal is to get through this entire bottle of lucious bath soak in the special Jacuzzi whirpool bath. Yeah, baby!
I might have even gotten into a little bit of mischief in my first night with these two larrikins, Danielle from Five Little Reasons and Heather from TeaCupBallet. Both I met for the first time and yet, I clicked with immediately. Gotta love blogging, don’t cha?
While I’m looking forward to the in-house movies, hanging out in a white bath robe and slippers for the next couple of days, please don’t be jealous. With every dream there is reality. And before I know it, I will soon be returning to mine.
And that’s okay. Let’s just soak all this in for the moment, shall we?
If you were given the chance to have a stay-cation, where would you go? And most importantly, can I join you??
* The term “stay-cation” was first introduced to me by the queen of stay-cations herself, Mummy K. Thank ya, sistah!
P.S To celebrate my one year flog-iversary of hosting FYBF, please link your all time favourite/most popular post for next week, ‘k???

Enjoy Melbourne! Your hotel looks fab. Sorry I won’t be at the Bloggers Brunch today, I have a meeting this morning. I hope it’s lots of fun 🙂
I just had a staycation in the city courtesy of Berlei. It was fabulous! We had a big double spa. Wish I had thought to take some radox. Good thinking!
Oh just the thought of a bubble bath, alone, with noone knocking on the door is divine! Enjoy your lovely staycation 🙂

I dont know where I would go, maybe kick everyone out of the house for a few days and curl up with a good book, or find a cabin in the bush somewhere which no internet reception and curl up with a good book..
Congratulation on doing this for a whole year! I love it!

Melbourne rates highly on my “staycation” list as I’ve never been. Also THE FOOD!! There are so many restaurants I’d want to try I’d probably spend the whole time eating. But that’s cool on a staycation right?
Hope you have a wonderful relaxing time Grace 🙂

I’m with Ai Sakura – somewhere tranquil and quiet, with massages, a spa, facials and great food for my ideal staycation!

Wow! Lucky, lucky you! No doubt you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet, and a chance to soak up those bubbles. The hotel looks devine, Mr Surfer is totally awesome! I reckon you’ll miss those adorable twinlets of yours though. The best thing about being away from your kids is seeing them when you get home. x

You know, Mamma G, I’m getting ready to it. I’ve had no one around to look after the kiddies but my BFF is moving back to town and I think I’m ready to leave those little loves of mine and go for a cheeky night away with my hubster.
He has to come too, cos he’d think something was up if I just upped and offed for the night on my lonesome………but once he’s been once….yee ha.
I’d like to go somewhere quiet, where no one wants anything and I can read a book in the sun after my mega sleep in.

If I were to have a stay-cation it would be somewhere quiet but with 3G! Maybe a mountain shack with beautiful walks and scenery, a wood heater (cause fires are lovely but messy and work) a decent set of arm chairs and reading lamps and a house-calling massage service within range. *clap, clap* “Who said I was done, Fabio??”

Awesome, Grace! So jealous, I must admit. If I could go anywhere just to stay in a hotel I would choose the newly refurbished Park Hyatt overlooking Sydney Harbour. Not far from home but if it was in a beautiful suite with all the bells and whistles, with no kids, no parents, no anyone so I could just sleep and relax and take long baths, watch movies, read books and eat, it would be fabulous.
Enjoy your break! You deserve it. V.

I hope you enjoyed yourself and made the most of your time. I have desperately been asking for a night or two away for months (since September last year, actually) but it just never happens!
I saw you at the brunch then got distracted and didn’t get a chance to say hi. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I’m totally jealous of your family free staycation, I took the family to see the in-laws and now I’m home feeling worse than before we went! Hectic trips are hell on relaxation.
I didn’t get a chance to comment on this post last Friday, it was a bit of a hectic day but it looks amazing! I am very jealous!
Dave and I are going away on Friday, up to he Hunter Valley for the weekend for a wedding. Our first entirely kid-free weekend since we had Punky, and probably the last one we will get until PJ#2 is much older so we are going to try and make the most of it. It’s just a shame I can’t drink, being in the Hunter and all! I’m sure we’ll find plenty to do though!

These two forms of using the word’roll form’ will be used indistinguishably throughout this
manuscript. It often comes in two varieties one with dual flexible sides
and one that has a hard side and a flexible side that looks
a lot like wood molding. These tend to be the noisiest of doors so bear this in mind if you have a bedroom
above and need to use the door when people may be sleeping.

Hi! I just wanted to ask if you ever have
any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no data backup.
Do you have any solutions to prevent hackers?
