FYBF – Spring Makeover

October 4, 2013 By: mamagrace7146 Comments

With spring comes glorious weather, beautiful blooming flowers and a chance to dip our toes in the water in anticipation for that first swim in the ocean.

But I say screw that.

It’s time to give myself a makeover.

Totes over the past 3 months of coughs, colds, flus, asthma, sinusitis and spew, this past week I went for it.  I decided it was time for a spring makeover.  A chance to shake off the winter grime and embark the road to fabulousness.

A new nail salon opened up the road from me and being a great supporter of local businesses, I was there on grand opening day.

Just as that was serendipitous in my plans to welcome spring, so was the matching pedicure and sandals.  Score!

FYBF - Spring Makeover 2

Next was to tackle the problem of the annoying gap in my right eyebrow with a brow brush.

Still yet to master the fine art of applying perfectly aligned and filled eyebrows, I’m still modelling the Charlie Chaplain look.

 FYBF - Spring Makeover 1

But hey, at least I now I have EYEBROWS.

What’s a makeover without new big hair complete with highlights?  My hair is never this light unless my greys are showing.

I trust my hairdresser Craig implicitly and so when he kept begging me to try something new, I knew he’d make me look more J Lo than a lion.

And to complete tres chic, one needs to go boho chic.

FYBF - Spring Makeover 3

Luffing my Veronica’s Closet purple dress.  Her shop is up the road from me (next door to the new nail salon…how super is that?) and I’m forever popping in for a chat and even a debate.  Lucky she’s my pal and still loves me. If you’re looking for some fashion inspiration go check out her out on Facebook and Instagram.

Thus, I conclude my tips for a transition.

FYBF - Spring Makeover 4

I’m pretty sure there isn’t one area in my life at the moment that doesn’t need a huge spring clean. I’m off to the hairdressers today to take care of the 10 inches of grey regrowth and also having my nails done. Just need to convince the rest of the family to spring clean the house while I’m gone and perhaps I can do a bit of online blog spring cleaning while I’m having my hair done.

You’re a stunner, Grace! I don’t generally do seasonal makeovers, but I have had a little mini cheapskate shopping spree to get the ‘in between’ clothes as the baby weight starts to fall off a bit faster. Lots of colour to cheer me up – and lots of belts to keep the pants up! x

No there will be no makeover here! Unless you count my transition to full blonde last week which I’m not sure I like at all. I’m just biding my time till Christmas to get my hair back to normal and then maybe update the wardrobe a little

I haven’t yet, but I have informed T that I want the full package treatment at a day spa for my birthday present – full body massage and a mani & pedi. I have only ever done it once in my life and after having a baby I think I deserve it. Whether or not I get it remains to be seen, but if he knows whats good for him he will get it! I would love a new haircut, but reality is I spend most of my days with my hair scrunched up in a bun so it would probably be a waste of time and money at the moment.
