FYBF – Pre-Blogopolis Fever

Unless you’ve been hiding under a very big rock, you would be aware by now that tomorrow is the much-anticipated Blogopolis event.

 

If you’re coming along and looking for tips on what to bring/wear/expect…you’ve come to the wrong place. Ha! Kidding!

I attended last year’s conference in Melbourne. It was memorable because of the people that I met, not just what I learnt.

I sat at a table where, for the first time, I met:  Trish from My Little Drummer Boys, Maria from Mums Word and Kate from Our Little Sins.

I also met Deb from Bright and Precious, hung out with Brenda from Mummy-Time and Kristyn from Mummy K.

A year later, I can still confidently say that these ladies are my friends.  Solid-as-oak friendships.

So, my tips for tomorrow ?

  • Be excited about all the new friendships you will make.
  • Be thrilled that you will be in a space surrounded by inspiring, intelligent, fabulous people.
  • Be a sponge and soak it all in.  And trust me, there will be a LOT of it !
  • Don’t overdose on the bowl of Mentos on your table ! (Speaking from personal experience…ahems…)
  • ENJOY !!!

Oh, and look out for this shady character…

If she charges at you like a bear with one of her hugs, please don’t call the police. Just give her a hug back 🙂

    I’m kind of bummed I’m not going but one blogging conference a year is enough at this stage. Although, I might try for sponsorship to go to two next year. That would be AWESOME! I’ll get to see you twice in a year. Woot!

      Hi Rachel, Try to find me…not so much for handholding but you know what I look like, but I havent seen your photo. There’s no assigned seating this year, and there’ll be a line up of sorts for registration, and then people will have names put on. Looking at the schedule, there’s 45 min Morn Tea and 1 hour lunch..plenty of mingling time. See you tomorrow…have you got your biz cards to hand out? Not to worry if you dont. Mine have some lollies to go with them. Denyse x

    Hi Grace,
    I remember saying Hi to you, MummyK and Mummytime last year as you guys were on table at the back of mine..or so I thought… anyhow..we already “knew” each other by them I am sure.
    As for tomorrow, I already know it’s going to be different.
    There are no assigned seats this year (I asked Nuffnang yeseterday) as its been classed as a roaming conference.
    In saying that, it will be nice to try to find people though..and there are 230 coming.
    I am sorry to miss seeing Maria, but sounds like she has her hands full.
    As I’m no longer going to blogher, and for now not planning on ProBlogger, this will be my last conference until DPCon2013…and I cannot wait for Brenda to tell WHERE it IS.

    Meeting you last year at Blogopolis was my absolute highlight! So sad I won’t be going this year (even though I’ll be in Syd – though arriving in the afternoon!) – I hope you have an awesome time. Conferences are such a great opportunity to discover fabulous people!
