Years ago, the “all or nothing side” of my personality led me to an amazing diving adventure out in the crystal blue waters of Okinawa, Japan.
Having even barely gone snorkeling, my avid diving girlfriends insisted that I join them on their trip and obtain my PADI’s license. All of them were far more experienced than me so while they went off in search of hammerheads and stingrays I would have separate beginner’s classes in the shallow shores of the beach.
But then, in two days, I went for my first dive and luckily I was with a patient, lovely instructor who didn’t even mind too much when I completely freaked out in my first attempt to dive down ten metres.
Eventually, I relaxed and we swam around the beautiful coral of Okinawa and then, we spotted him…Nemo.
It’s one of those magical moments in life you never forget. All thanks to a clown fish.
Fast forward a decade and we finally get to see our beautiful blue tang friend, Dory back on the big screen.
She is back with Marlin and Nemo. However, as the film title suggests, Dory’s forgetfulness gets her lost.
In the journey, we meet some great new characters like Hank the Octopus. Above all, we’re reminded of some touching messages like the importance of believing in yourself and your instincts.
The boys and I were extremely fortunate to see a special advanced screening of Finding Dory, all arranged by Subway and Disney Pixar.
A perfect Sunday outing where we were also treated to Subway’s KidsPak, a nutritionally balanced kids’ meal. It’s hard enough these days to find healthy takeaway meals when out and about. And even harder if your kids are fussy eaters like mine.
With the KidsPak, kids can choose what goes on their four-inch sub, which includes a variety of fresh salad vegetables. The KidsPak is available at all Subway® Restaurants.
And for you my beloved readers, I have prizes for one lucky winner and runner-up!

I’m looking forward to this movie…I loved Finding Nemo. It’s hard to choose a favourite scene as it was cute overall. But if I had to choose a fav quote it’d be ‘Just Keep Swimming’ In a way, that’s currently my mantra in life as well when things are not going too well or not turning out the way you want, you kinda have no choice but to keep swimming and hope things will change.

Wow, what a wonderful giveaway Grace!! We are all huge fans of Nemo and Dory here.
One of my favourite quotes from Finding Nemo would be when Dory says” You got a problem buddy? Huh? Huh? Do ya? Do ya? Do ya?”
She’s just so hilarious!! We are really looking forward to watching Finding Dory at the cinemas in the upcoming school holidays.
Fave quote has to be “Ah Oh Ah Ee Ah Oh Oh Oh Ah Oh Ah Ee Ah Oh Oh Oh SHARKBAIT OOH HA HA!” My kids do it all the time and it never fails to crack me up.
(Also FYI I can’t see the kinky. x)

Why did I not see you????!!
What a great giveaway! To my horror, I don’t think I’ve seen Finding Nemo all the way through, so I will have to watch both movies back to back. I did find Nemo at the Aquarium though, does that count?!

Favourite scene: When Nemo defies his Dad and swims up and touches the boat and his friends are like “ooh he touched the butt” haha!

My boys always say that now! “Ooooh, he touched the butt!” LOL!
Bruce: I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.
I like this reminder that if we want to change things we must first start with ourselves. This quote also popped into my head when I was snorkelling amongst some reef sharks. I kept telling myself that these sharks weren’t mindless eating machines! Lol!

This movie will be bought by me I am sure NOT for the grandkids who no longer live near us nor need the grandkid care of yesteryears but for me..I loved the Nemo movie because of the memories of lovely afternoons with our grandchildren AND the fact it is a movie I can watch all the way through. A miracle indeed.
Fave scene: Bruce – the shark because of his redeeming qualities and he is voiced by Barry Humphries. Loved him.
PS when you get a chance Grace, my blog post today (not linked here) is all about surfboards and Soldiers Beach..one for Mr Surfer. xx

Loved the post, D! Showed it to Mr Surfer and looks like we’re planning our next camping trip to Soldiers Beach! 🙂 x
My fave scene would have to be when Dory and Nemo were swimming through the jelly fish and the line “just keep swimming”. I say it to myself almost everyday lol! So many jellyfish parallels in every day life. Great movie and can’t wait to see the new one. My kids were too young to see Finding Nemo in the cinema but are the perfect age for this one. Bring it.

Mr. Ray: “Seaweed is cool, Seaweed is fun. It gets its food from the rays of the sun!”
Firstly, what a cool seaweed fact! Secondly, I can’t resist an informative rhyme. Thirdly, marine algae deserve more recognition (and I love the way it swishes in the ocean!).

One of my favourite scenes is when Marlin is with the turtles and squirt is talking to crush.
Squirt: Whoa! That was so cool! Hey, Dad! Did you see that? Did you see me? Did you see what I did?
Crush: You so totally rock, Squirt! So gimme some fin.
Squirt is so cute with his squeaky voice and I love the message behind that whole scene about letting kids go and find their own way back. The whole movie has so many wonderful themes and great advice weaved into the storyline, I can’t wait to see Finding Dory especially now that I have an almost 3yr old this time round {not as weird as a 2yr old watching a kids cartoon by themselves like 10 yrs ago haha}.

I absolutely loved Finding Dory (and it was so good to see you and your gorgeous boys!). In fact, I think I liked it more than Finding Nemo! And what a heartbreaking cutie is baby Dory!
I like it when the seagulls go ” mine, mine, mine, mine…”
Loved Nemo and can’t wait to see Finding Dory, so many great lines, I love the voices.
I love it all, but the turtles scene is pretty cool, when they are riding the EAC and Crush the turtle says…
You so totally rock, Squirt! So gimme some fin!
I obviously had to google that!
And then I got lost in all the lines, damn good movie.
Have a great weekend lovely

I can’t wait to see this movie with my kids! I love the mantra ‘Just keep swimming’, I tell it to my kids all the time when things get hard in life.
My daughter is keen for this one despite not having seen the first Nemo all the way through, she does have a book she likes and is particularly enamoured with the pelican!
My favorite quote would be from Bruce (The Great White Shark) and I quote “I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine.” It reminds me and teach the little one’s to be a good person and being kind to others.
“Just keep swimming, just keep swimming” I sing this all the time to get me, and now my kids, through difficult times of the day….and sure enough it always puts a smile back on our faces.
‘Just keep swimming’ because my kids are learning to swim and that’s what I keep telling them!
Dory: I have short term memory loss. It runs in my family, or at least I think it does. Hmm…where are they? – Oh dear I can so relate to this 😉
Our favourite is “and I shall call him squishy” used often in our house while enfolding small children in great squishy cuddles.
“Oh, look at me. I’m gonna touch the butt.” – This has become my hubby’s catchphrase and our youngest (4) has started saying it at kinder, to our embarrassment!!
Sheldon the Seahorse: I’m H2O intolerant. Achoo!
Can’t wait to see Finding Dory! 🙂
My favourite character is Bruce the Shark and I love when he is trying to convince himself not to eat the fish. My favourite quote from him is:
I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.
Love him – my kids love him!!!
The Seagulls ‘Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine, Mine. . . . . . . ” it’s funny because it’s so typically ‘Seagull’ and totally reminds me of the kids (as well as some greedy guts grown ups too).
Our fav quote is;
Gill: To the top of Mount Wanna-hock-a-loogie.
Oh we all laughed at the same time, the kids were saying it all the way home 😀
Mr. Ray: All new explorers must answer a science question. You live in what kind of home?
Nemo: An anemonemone. Amnemonemomne.
Mr. Ray: That’s okay kid, dont hurt yourself.
I love this quote as I still cant say that word !!!!!
Thanks for the chance, great giveaway.
Bruce: I’m having fish tonight.
Its simple, and definitely to the point, lol
I love the ending of Finding Nemo as they are reunited and live happily ever after!
Bruce: [reciting] I am a nice shark, not a mindless eating machine. If I am to change this image, I must first change myself. Fish are friends, not food.
The quote has so much meaning and gives me motivation to correct my behaviour before finding faults with others.
So many funny moment in Finding Nemo, this one always makes me giggle:
Dory: How about we play a game?
Marlin: All right.
Dory: Okay, I’m thinking of something orange, and it’s small…
Marlin: It’s me.
Dory: Right!
[Later]
Dory: I’m thinking of something orange and small…
Marlin: Me again.
Dory: All right, Mr. Smartypants…
[Later]
Dory: … It’s orange and small, and has stripes…
Marlin: Me, and the next one – just a guess – me.
Dory: Okay, that’s just scary.
Dora is our favourite character from Nemo and when we cuddle the life out of Percy, our Maltese x Shih Tzu, we usually cry “I shall call him squishy and he shall be mine and he shall be my squishy.”
Percy just responds with a grumpy cat glare. It makes us laugh each and every time.
The seagulls squawking out “mine, mine, mine!” Soooo clever and and used all the time in our house rendering us in a heap of giggles every single time!
Marlin: THAAAANKKK YOUUUUU SIRRRRRRR.
Dory: Wow. I wish I could speak whale…
Ha, ha. I love it! Can’t wait to seeing Finding Dory with my little ones these school holidays!
I absolutely adore Finding Nemo and I am SO excited about Finding Dory! My favourite in Nemo is definitely Marlin and I’m so glad he’s in this film too… I love how his anxious, abrupt personality contrasts so perfectly with the chipper Nemo and Dory. My favourite part of Finding Nemo is when Dory asks Marlin if he doesn’t like her and he replies – “No, of course I like you. It’s because I like you I don’t want to be with you. It’s a complicated emotion.”. One of the many examples of how perfectly in-tune with parents and caregivers Disney Pixar are… definitely a nod to the many adults who know that “complicated emotion” 😉
Thanks for the chance, I just adore this franchise!
