It’s come to my sad attention that the comment love on #FYBF has decreased lately.
Now, I’m just as guilty with my lack of participation.
I know that gallivanting around the Gold Coast with a sexy French pedicabber who insisted to only be identified as “T” (for further details, please refer to Melbourne Mum’s cheeky post), then coming home to deal with asthmatic, spewy twinlets gives me no excuses.
But I’m endevouring to change that.
Some of you long time #FYBF’ers may remember the Power of 4. The concept was simple.
Whatever row you landed on when linking, you had to (at the minimum) read the other 4 blog posts and comment. Love thy bloggy neighbour kinda thing.
Now while I completely encourage that you stick to that little guideline (because no one likes a link and dash-er), I’m going to up the ante.
Maybe a delicious incentive is what we need?
For the first person who reads all this week’s #FYBF posts, I’m going to send over a box of chocolates. Howzat?
I know, I know, it’s not a spunky French guy who can *ahems* give you a ride…on his bike. Nor is it the oil painting gorgeous deliciousness that is Ryan Gosling.
But who can say no to choccies, yes?
This is not a sponsored post, by the way.
Neither Lindt, Cadbury or Ferrero Rocher (my favourites…hint hint) have contacted me to supply the prize. I’m forking this out of my own pocket full of holes and some small change.
All you have to do is:
- Read all (or as many) of this week’s #FYBF blog posts by midday (AEST) Sunday, 22nd of September*
- Send me an email (grace@withsomegrace.com) telling me how many blog posts you read.
- In your email, also tell me who’s post would you nominate as this week’s #FYBF Best.
Both the winner and the post they nominated will get a special mention in next week’s #FYBF
* Remember:
- #FYBF closes at 10pm on Saturdays so make sure you head back after deadline to ensure you’ve read all the posts.
- It will be a case of “first in best dressed”. The winner will be the first person who sends me an email and who’s also read the MOST posts
And did I mention chocolates?

2. Sign up to the awesome Digital Parents community ( if you haven’t already done so). DP was created by Brenda Gaddi who happens to be the creator of FYBF. She’s also created 4 gorgeous kidlets. In case you’d like to know. Or maybe not. But we’ll share that info just the same.
3. Add your post URL to the linky. Please only link up one post.
4. Grab the funky FYBF button and post it on your sidebar. Help spread the blogfloggin love.
5. Visit the blogs of your fellow FYBF’ers and share the comment love.
6. Share some more comment love. It’s proven to make your wrinkles disappear…overnight. #truth
morning Grace! nice little challenge. Hope the twinlets and you are feeling better!

Morning, Steph! We’re still trudging through the sickness, unfortunately! Feel free to link up your post! x
Sounds like a great idea, Grace. I love a challenge. Hope the kids are okay. We’ve had gastro at our house too. It is cruel.

Yum, love that eye candy. I like to comment on peeps’ blogs although I’d never win the box of chocolate Grace. Hope the twins are doing better xx

Guilty as charged! I have rarely commented on blogs for two weeks now. So busy. If it helps I feel really sheepish about it. I almost wrote my post today as an apology but decided instead to stop being sorry about it and just fix it! So today I will increase your power of 4 and make it the power of 12! Just to make up for lost time ….

Did it! In fact I read 15. Phew! Kids have no breakfast and the lunches have not been made (lunch orders perhaps?) but I no longer feel sheepish. Sorry, can’t do all of them. Got a business to run. so no choccies for me. Great incentive though! I look forward to seeing who wins!

CHOCOLATES! I have a feeling I’ll not get there. I usually visit seven or eight – the four in my row, and then a few randoms that catch my eye. Not always, I’ll admit. But if I know I won’t get there, I don’t link up.
Thanks as ever for hosting FYBF, Grace. Hope everyone in your family is fighting fit again soon. x

It has been a hard commenting few weeks, I feel guilty as charged, if only there were more hours in the day though. Love the idea of your challenge. Mmmmmm chocolate

Good challenge Grace. This is the reason that I didn’t link last week, I just knew I wouldn’t get time to read any others 🙁
Getting more organized this week I hope.
I hope your babies are back to their cheerful selves soon. xx

Love the power of four! There’s no way I’ll get that box of choccies, as much as I’d love it, because every week I find myself wishing I had time to read more blogs than I possibly can…. I ALWAYS try to read at least three. Four I can handle….might even go five 😉

Oooo… I’ve been a little naughty. Despite always commenting on more than four, I’ve been sharing the love amongst rows! I’ll be sure to fix that – and even then some, perhaps. Love uncovering new blogs to follow through things like this!

Guilty too, and I’m mostly late in commenting too! But I will be better this week – and I’m sure people are going to be intrigued by my post on ‘ork-life balance’ ! Opps.

Oh that photo of T has made my day, thank you lovely lady! Not sure whether it would be redundant to link up as you’ve linked to the post I was going to link up yesterday – instead I think I’ll just give some good comment love for the others. Kx

He is a dreamboat, yes? Nah, feel free to link up still. After all…it’s about flogging your blog 🙂 x
I have been lucky I think, but I have never posted and run! Maybe that is the secret, I mean how hard is it just to visit 4 other posts (at least) and comment?
If you cannot return the favour, don’t put it out there.
Now, if we can only get the #FBLS people to have the same respect.
As for the chocolate. I don’t believe I will win it this week, but given the challenge on any other, I would surely be in running. Not because of the chocolate (although I do love Lindt – hint) but because I am all about the comments 🙂

You know – and I hate to blow my own trumpet but I have to blow my own trumpet – BUT when I link with FYBF – I read about 98 % of posts and comment on all of those I read – when you have a spare 5 minutes – go back a few months, weeks and you’ll see I’m not lying. I’m too grumpy to post – and have nothing amazing to flog – unless I flog my BOOM! Maybe I will 🙂 Hope boys on the mend – mine are driving me UP THE WALL – hugs lovely xx

You are my most awesomest commenter. Don’t think it gets unnoticed, gorgeous lady! Sending hugs right back! x
I have been a bit off recently but I usually get there in the end – off to kids Little Athletics on a Friday which gives me less blog read time 🙁 Wish we’d never signed up – kids too young, live and learn though right?! HUGS xx

Hiya Grace, It’s always good to put out a reminder! I have never forgotten the power of 4. If I don’t have time to read and comment on at least 4 posts, then I don’t link up – easy! I mostly read amd comment on quite a bit more than 4 though. I do hope you boys are fit and hardy again soon! I remember those days of sick little ones very well…..and the exhaustion!! Have a great weekend! xo

I doubt that I am going to be anywhere near the first through them all, but I really do read most of the posts on linkups. I don’t comment on ALL of them, but as much as I’ve got something to say I do, and that usually ends up being a fair few.

Grace, I’m so glad you put out this reminder because I was almost going to stop sharing on FYBF because I never received any comments but did share! I know everyone is so flat out (me included) but I love the power of 4 idea, I’d never heard of it before today but is a similar approach I use on other link ups – I read the other posts in my row. Not sure if i’ll get the choccies, but I’ll do my best!

Happy Friday Grace! I’ve loved your power of 4 idea – it’s achievable, and it stops all the comments being skewed to the first few rows – I do try to do this when I can, but I’ll admit that I’ve been slipping so thanks for the reminder. 🙂

Yay it’s Friday! Love how you are trying to reward us for commenting/reading other blogs. I generally manage to sneak in reads during the day but don’t always comment. Hope everyone at home is on the mend healthwise. Take care!
Psych Babbler recently posted..I have always loved Australia but…
Alas, I linked and ran last week. So I am def. guilty of it. I sometimes (and I don’t know if this is acceptable in Power of 4 World), comment on 4 blogs, but not necessarily those in my row? Sometimes, I do the ones above/below me.
I read more than I comment too, so will amend that today!!!
Thanks for reminding all of us – I think we all need a kick up the pants somedays!

I’ve been feeling really bad about not being able to read and comment on as many blogs as I usually, I haven’t even finished commenting in posts from IBOT yet! But hopefully if I can get both munchkins asleep by 8pm tonight ill have a bit of reading time with Dave at work tonight. Just feels like I spend all my time lately trying to get kids to sleep! It’s probably a good thing though that I have no chance of winning the choccies as I’m trying to shift some of the baby weight and they wouldn’t help my cause!

Hello duckie, I knew I’d be running around like a mad chook today so didn’t link up… and am over and out for two weeks now blog wise. I loved that power of four idea and do stick to it cos it’s nice to be nice and I don’t believe in link and run.
Hey there, sorry the comments have been dropping off, I always read the ones in my row, but don’t often get a chance to read more.. I will make sure to read as many as I can. 🙂

I don’t do it for chocolates:) I enjoy reading through the blogs and love that I can find them all in one place. I comment in the blogs when I can because I know I blog to hear opinions as well as share mine so I just assume others do too. Oh and I have no ideas how to ‘grab a button’. I use wordpress if thats important to instruction I might get (hint hint lol)

I love Ryan Gosling. Such an amazing specimen. I try to read as many blogs as I can and comment when I feel I have something to offer. I don’t really like commenting for commenting sake though. I hate it when someone comments on my blog when they clearly haven’t even read the post. I’ve actually had people get the facts of the story/names of the people discussed wrong in the comment! I do however only participate in link ups when I know I can play by the Power of Four. V.
