Thrilled! Thrilled to bits, I am!
Mr Surfer and I aim for one date night per month. Which, in the grand scheme of twin toddler wrangling, aren’t such bad odds.
But if you’re going to talk about the quality of an evening, well, that’s a different story.
You know how it is. We got lost in the rarity of such a happy occasions, something inevitably either goes wrong or doesn’t scratch up to our high, much anticipated expectations.
At this unpredictable, crazy stage of parenting, date nights need to be fail proofed. (Anyone remember our “Life of Pi” fiasco?)
For my Nigella No Friends birthday dinner last year, my thoughtful husband took me to “Blancharu” – a swish, One Chef’s Hat Japanese-French fusion restaurant out in hip Elizabeth Bay.
Walking in, it felt like stepping into one of my old stomping grounds in party central Tokyo.
It was one of those unforgettably delectable evenings when for a split second, I was transformed into a normal person who knew how to put on a pretty dress, put on some make up and eat with a knife and fork.
A delicious 5 degustation course and some crispy white wine to boot.
Civilized, much?
So imagine my joy and elation when I discovered a Groupon Australia special, offering the same 5 course meal at the very restaurant for only $69 for two!
With a bit of planning and begging Grandma to come and baby sit, we’re all set for our fail proof date night tomorrow! Squeee!
Same time same channel to find out how the outing goes!
Now, before y’all get jelly, wishing for a cheap but memorable night out for yourselves, Groupon Australia have kindly offered a $50 Voucher for me to giveaway to one lucky reader! You’re welcome.

Date night…we try but it just never seems to happen. Plus, falling asleep on the table at 8:30pm is not an attractive look. Well done to you! It sounds fabulous!

Enjoy your night sweetie, you deserve it !! When we become parents it is hard to ensure that we have special time with our partners but when we do its worth all the fuss and trouble of organizing it all. Hope all goes well with your “date” xx

There is a fantastic looking massage there that I would love! It would repair some of the stress I have!
Forget merely eating!…
That voucher is going towards two Full-Body Relaxation Massages and Hydrating Gernétic Facials for myself and my stressed sister-in-law. BLISS!
A 2 hour massage because my back is craving to be kneaded like dough.
I am a junkie for straight sleeck hair!
So I would purchase the
Brazilian Straight Keratin Plus Straightening System – One ($29) or Three-Month Supply ($59), Includes Nationwide Delivery (Up to $188.50 Value)
I would love to get a beautiful massage for myself and my mum actually! She has just got a hip replacement and Iw ould really love for her to be treated the way she should be. Like a queen! I hope your next date night goes well Grace =)
In Daylesford a romantic retreat,
natural clean food to eat,
fresh air and open spaces,
a delight to appreciate and embrace.
Five-star hotel high tea,
The perfect day out in my home city.
I’d treat my best friend to some posh fun,
$89 for two makes it even cheaper than one!
Yummy cakes, sipping tea
Enjoying one another’s company.
I couldn’t imagine a better place
An outing that’s definitely ‘with some grace’ 😉
I’ve bought a few Groupons in recent months and they’ve all been great. I like the hairdressing and massage vouchers best.
A therapeutic massage for my mum because she’s always working hard around the house to take care of me and my dad. She needs to be pampered for once!
I would put my voucher towards some of these Royal Hotel 1000 Thread Count Sheets. That should take care of a good night!
I had a chuckle reading about your date night. Hope the next one goes better. 🙂
With the $50 voucher from Groupon Australia, I’d spend it on Six-Course Thai Banquet with Wine for Two (https://www.groupon.com.au/deals/sydney/Thai-Yindee-Restaurant/716844206) so I could take my partner out for a yummy exotic dinner on our anniversary next month.
