Facebook Lovin’ Sunday – 17/03

Top of da FBLS mornin’ to yer!

That’s my lame attempt at an Irish accent, in case you were wondering.

Slide1

I wish I could say that I was going to green it up today and party with a pint of Guiness in honour of St Patrick’s Day, alas…I have caught the twinlets’ cold (Cue sympathy sighs)

Instead, I’m going to share with you a little juicy secret.

Here’s my remedy to stave off colds and general feelings of under the weather crapiness.

You will need:
1 super duper juicer (or any juicer that works)
4 medium sized carrots
1 large Granny Smith apple
1 medium sized beetroot (including the leaves)
Generous handful of spinach
1 mother-f slab of ginger
Dash of tumeric

What you need to do:
Whizz all the fruit and veggies into the juicer. Add the tumeric at the end and give a quick stir.

A HUGE thanks to Dani over at Fitness, Food and Style for the inspiration!

Juicy Secret

For added healthy goodness, I also grabbed a clove of raw garlic, chopped it up into pill-sized pieces and swallowed with my super duper drink.

Yes, you read correctly…RAW garlic! It has lots of antibacterial properties that help fight all those nasty cold germs. Just remember you’ll be burping it up for a little while afterwards. Classy.

So tell me, what are your homemade remedies for colds? Do you eat raw garlic? Does my breath smell?

Spread FB Love, not colds, yo!

Don’t forget the important stuff:

1.  Copy and paste your Facebook Blog Page URL and link it up below

2. If you can, please “Like” a fellow blogger’s page through your personal account. (For some bizzaro reason, the number of Likes on a fan page is only tallied from personal accounts).

3.  For the love of bloggy karma, don’t link and dash! Reciprocate the Facebook Like love, ‘k?

* Not a deal breaker but how about giving a shout out to a new page you found ?  Doesn’t cost much. Give tenfold, get hundred back, I say.

P.S To try and get as many bloggers joining in, please share or retweet this post! The more pages there are here to “Like”, the more love there is to share!

Ahh, green snot for St Patricks Day is not really the best way to celebrate. Raw garlic ftw! Oh, and loads of half a lemon, boiling water + honey drinks.

Oh dear! Feel better soon. My cold remedy is to bitch and moan and sook about how awful you’re feeling all the time. Not actually proven to remedy the cold, but it makes everyone else feel worse so comparatively speaking, you’re okay. 🙂

If you caught the cold from the twinlets and they are male, you know what that means, don’t you? It’s no ordinary cold, it’s a Man Cold, you are tragically ill and should retire to bed and moan endlessly (yeah, we never get away with it, do we?)

We’re into doing juices regularly here, feeling a bit blah and dizzy today, might need to add a bit of the old beetroot for an iron blast. Thanks for the idea. Hope you feel better soon. xo

You know – I’m more than a week overdue for this post but my remedy is sleep. The unobtainable, ever evasive, always desirable – sleep. Maybe I’ll get some…next year. Ha! Yes, the garlic aroma that could level Takoma.
