If anyone were to ask my biggest bloggy highlight, I would say it’s every 2nd Sunday night.
Never would I have imagined that blogging would create the happiest warm and fuzzys, seeing people greet each other’s FB page through FBLS.
It reminds me of a great quote:
“Plant a tree wherever you go because you never know when you’re going to need that shade one day.”
I don’t quite remember who first mentioned it to me but it was someone who’s definitely switched on.
It became my mantra and has been the key to success for many aspects of life.
I think it’s also applicable to blogging.
I know FBLS is a great opportunity for everyone to increase Likes on Facebook.
(It’s also my way to flip a birdie at the Zuckerberg gang in their constant confusing change of rules and algorithms).
But.
The (continuing) FBLS goal is to plant strong friendships. Because somewhere down the track we may find ourselves needing some help, advice and even an ally.
Relationships made through the internet are as real and engaging as you make them.
Thank you to those who tirelessly leave all those beautiful messages to fellow bloggers in support of their Facebook page.
Your sense of community spirit doesn’t get unnoticed.
Enjoy your Sunday, FBLS’ers!
Don’t forget the important stuff:
1. Copy and paste your Facebook Blog Page URL and link it up below
2. If you can, please “Like” a fellow blogger’s page through your personal account. (For some bizzaro reason, the number of Likes on a fan page is only tallied from personal accounts).
3. For the love of bloggy karma, don’t link and dash! Reciprocate the Facebook Like love, ‘k?
* Not a deal breaker but how about giving a shout out to a new page you found ? Doesn’t cost much. Give tenfold, get hundred back, I say.
P.S To try and get as many bloggers joining in, please share or retweet this post! The more pages there are here to “Like”, the more love there is to share!
I’m going to be needing to take time out for health reasons more often than not this month and will be looking for lots of guest bloggers to keep the blog alive and fresh. This link up is just what I need. Thanks so much! x

I like the sense of community as well. I’ve felt I had to hang back from participating because I don’t want to just link and dash, I want to visit each blog and I’m already struggling to read and comment on all the blogs I follow. But we’re all struggling time wise, so deep breath and dive in. I don’t need to sleep, right?

Hi Grace,
Thanks for hosting again. FBLS and FYBF have been great entry points for me as a new blogger. I’ve found beaut blogs (and the lovely people who write them) through both of these link ups.
I agree with you and the comments above – there is a real sense of community amongst bloggers. It’s a unexpected but very welcome upside!

Hey there – a first timer here. I’ve been blogging for a only a couple of months so still finding my feet. I’m in NZ and I am trying to find some more NZ bloggers, most of the ladies I follow (and admire!) are in Oz. Thanks for the opportunity xxx
Beautifully said Grace. I try and support everyone I come across on their Facebook page. I’ve never ‘unliked’ a page. I think we all need to support each other. Some weeks, my FB page numbers don’t really increase, and it can feel a bit disheartening when you put in a lot of effort. But it isn’t really about the numbers. I try to keep putting out the positivity, and hope it’s channelling out. I love Facebook for the way it connects people to each other. I think it’s a really positive social development.
Thanks for initiating this! x

The sense of community is the whole reason why I blog and why I started in the first place. I don’t refer to things as real life or not because to me, my internet friends and connections are just as important and real as my offline ones so its online and offline, no real life versus not real life.
Thanks for hosting such awesome link-ups and what are really a community service!

I love FBLS. I love finding new blogs and I love using it as an excuse to say hello to those I already follow too. I came in a little late tonight after a huge day and had to spend most of my evening writing my I Must Confess post for tomorrow but I am going to continue FBLS into tomorrow, if that’s okay. I know I have established some great blogging relationships from this and I plan to keep linking up and participating in the future. Thanks for continuing to make this such a success Grace!

You are so right Grace, it certainly has helped introduce me to other bloggers and vice versa! I think it’s so important to be there for others because you never know when you might need a favour in return, Em x
