Last Saturday was NSW Fire and Rescue Open Day, which meant most fire stations opened their doors to families and future fire fighting enthusiasts.
What I thought would be just a fun family day out was a day for community too. (And a sausage sizzle to boot!)
It’s not the professional athletes, the successful business man nor the rock star…it’s our local heroes like the firemen that I hope my children will look up to.
Did you get to visit your local fires station last Saturday?

How wonderful. We didn’t get to visit but I know my two would love it. They get so excited when a fire engine drives past.

You’ve got some very cute firies there! My boys were down supporting the local firies last saturday. We live down the street from our local fire station so we are often stalking it!

Ah, I remember taking my big two when they were wee. Why ARE firemen, and firewomen too, so very attractive? And yes, these wee boys too.

Don’t tell my husband, but there’s always a special place for firemen in my heart. Perhaps because they cook?
