Introducing our fourth FYBF Featured Flogger and first daddy blogger…Kevin from The Illiterate Infant !
While we all have a plethora of stories about poo and tantrums, there’s always something special when you hear it from the perspective of a new daddy. Especially when he talks about how the loved-up new parent hormones took him by surprise and made him cry over X-Factor. Bless!
When not blogging, toddler- wrangling or packing boxes and moving house, you can find Kevin on Facebook or Twitter.
Please join me in welcoming Kevin on FYBF and don’t forget to leave behind lots of comment love, ‘k?

All About Kev
Like everyone in the parent blogosphere I was someone before I was daddy (or mummy). I was a musician, an artist, a traveller and a bit of a dreamer. (Ok, some clarification: by musician I mean that I would try and pick out a tune on a guitar and by artist I really mean that I would think about drawing and then drink wine and by both I really mean – pick up girls).
I was lucky to meet my soul mate and best friend in my early 20’s who shared my passion for adventure. So, using the best contraception method we had, we left Australia shortly after getting married to live in a London share house and see the world.
When we hit 30 we decided to become mature adults and move back to Sydney to realise that everyone had already spent the last 3 years growing up so we got straight into buying houses and having kids.
Before kids it was pretty much about me, then my wife, then me again. There wasn’t much space for anything or anyone else. My WTF moment came 3 days after little E was born in June 2010. My wife was completely into someone else, my sleep belonged to someone else and every waking minute, I was doing something for someone else. It was then that I learnt the lesson new parents everywhere have to learn – that life wasn’t about me anymore.
The suprising thing was, I didn’t resent it. In fact I loved it, loved the new and existing ladies in my life and watching them (and me) grow, develop and overcome. So with the impending arrival of my number two illiterate infant I’m continuing my journey from selfish git to Oprah worthy fathering Guru (Please note: I haven’t found anyone that agrees with the Guru bit yet).
The Illiterate Infant is about the journey my family and I are on. The many failures, adventures and lessons and bestof all the beautiful moments when it all just clicks. Pop in any time.
