Leave all bashful behaviour the door!!!
Big Bad Hair Bloggers Unite!
Love how you guys don’t have an ounce of shame and sent through all these photos without hesitation or any regard that the interwebz is forever. It’s FOREVER, people!!!
Don’t blame me if a family member or (worse) ex-boyfriend finds your gravity defying 80’s hairstyle through Google.
Because remember, you volunteered! Heh.
So, introducing our ozone destroying divas…
Breaking away from the standard pastels and puffy sleeves of formal attire, Sophie from iSophie decided to go space themed instead. Fly me to the moon, baby!
As soon as I made the callout last week for hairspray and gel laden manes, I knew my fellow 80’s tragic, Lara from This Charming Mum wouldn’t let me down. She sent me a photo before I could say, “It’s high enough to take an eye out…”
Janet from Redland City Living sent through this fabulous frizzy number. Remember the days when TV sets had knobs, music was stored in little boxes called “cassette tapes” and you hung out with random teddy bears?
It seems Angela from School of Mum is still stuck in the 80’s. Bless her. What I love about these curly locks is that it doesn’t need an ounce of product. I would’ve killed for this hair in high school!!!
A subdued pose from Becc at Take Charge Now to accompany the luscious long permed frizzy tresses. Some hair gel, anyone? Anyone?
Anita of Fit Mother Hubbard is sporting what I call the classic “boof” – tease the bejesus out of the fringe and freeze it with hairspray until strands of hair are ready to snap!
And the piece de resistance: Kathy from Yin Yang Mother whose past will always haunt her thanks to the archives of Prime Television Network. Who cares about the news when you can admire perfectly structured hair?
Big thanks to all the floggers for sharing (and embracing) their biggest, baddest hairdos!

Loving those 80’s shots! I am sure I had pretty bad hair in the early nineties. But I could never get that bouffant look. Too straight!

Oh man, I loved that look. I felt so cool, being light years away from the standard prom look of the day.

Oh my! I’m glad you missed my teen 90’s spiral perm. Those were the days!
It seems unfair with all the products and knowledge these days, that my girls will not have to suffer through so many ‘bad hair’ days. Not fair at all!

A spiral perm? I’m so jealous. I begged and begged for one, but my folks wouldn’t part with the cash and I remember thinking it was *so* much money, I’d never manage to save it myself! 🙂

OMG! All my photos are in storage but I’d hate to see any from the 80s or 90s hit the web. I don’t actually have a favourite post this week, so I’m linking up today’s post which is actually a bit of a guest blogger callout.
Thanks for hosting!

Oh Grace that is priceless. I think Kathy and I were twins back in the 80’s seperated by the hairdresser. Thank God. This post made me smile and reminded me of my ten years. Some of the best days of my life. Thanks so much Grace for the walk and laugh down memory lane. Much Love MTA

Good on you ladies! I have some absolute shocker photos but I’m not sure I’m brave enough to let them out! It is amazing though how ‘ageing’ the 80’s were. I actually think me and my friends look younger now than we did back then (as long as you don’t look to close).

Actually, have you applied to be one of the presenters of Eurovision? Because, really, you would be FANTASTIC! In fact, when is Eurovision? I’d like to have a Eurovision party and set you up with a Wii microphone to commentate the entire thing. And then we will drink and be merry and play that karaoke game on the dang Wii which hasn’t been turned on in over a year!

What can I say? You guys are all beauuuuuudifful. And way spunky. Total spunkrats. Like i was, with my spiked fringe. I used to tease that puppy for hours, and use half a can of hairspray to hold it up. And what I lacked in volume? The trusty crimper provided. Ohhhh i miss my crimper. 🙂

Ah, the 80s do! Not for me, well not that I’d confess as I was “grown up Mama” but the DD rocked the perm too. She had the bouffiest look for her formals. What was it with perms?? I had the. For ages too as did Mum & I hate curly hair..oops on me!! D
Vanessa @ babblingbandit.me says
Awesome! I still regret not getting a perm in the 80s. Mum wouldn’t let me and I’ll forever hold a grudge about it. I noticed that Priceline had home perm kits. Maybe it’s not too late for me after all?
